Adapted from Rachyl Coyle’s “How Things Work at the Statehouse” presentation, COLT CO offers this training on how a bill becomes a law in Ohio and how to advocate for your members. We’ll discuss the legislative process with a focus on the budget cycle, Ohio’s legislative makeup, and grassroots advocacy strategy for union members. This interactive course is built in Kahoot! so participants will need an electronic device (cell phone, tablet, laptop, etc). The course modules are:

  • Statehouse Basics
  • How a Bill Becomes a Law
  • The Budget
  • Advocacy Resources

Attendees will participate interactively throughout the course.
